Why every participant is important

Why every person involved is important

Every participant in a study is equally important, and key to successful research. This is regardless of whether they receive the PARTNERS Service or their usual care.

All ideas need to be tested before being routinely implemented in the NHS, to know whether they work or not. This is why we depend on people like you to take part in research, so we can change mental health care together. We know that the majority of people who take part in research find it rewarding, through contributing to something that may lead to improved care for others in the future. We do hope people enjoy taking part in PARTNERS.

We asked people who have been a part of our research to talk about why they feel it is important:

Every single person who takes part in the research trial is playing a really important role in increasing our understanding of what does, and does not work, in mental health services.

Research, throughout time, has developed a better world. We’ve come up with some innovative ideas… so for me, it plays a fundamental role in improving people’s lives or creating a better world… I think that if there wasn’t mental health research, a lot of the services I access now would not be in place.
